We had great fun at the 2005 One Lap of America with some great interviews
and, an RV fire, and some great shots of cars on and
off (oops!) the tracks. Here are some
of our favorite clips.

IRP excursion onto the grass.
Ron Adee working his tires at IRP.
Here's the aftermath of the Summit Point
Subaru Crash. Does anyone know who got the actual crash
footage? If so, let me know.
Note the all-wheel drive keeping that raised tire
turning.
Ron Adee stalls at Mason Dixon Dragway.
This probably cost Ron the victory. He was pretty good
about it afterwards. Some of us would refuse to talk
about it for a while if it happened to us. :-)
Fire at VIR. We were in the midst
of an interview at the track when our attention was
called to this unfortunate RV. Then again, where
else will you find so many people with fire extinguishers
within easy reach? This could have been much, much
worse.
Dubler attracts the wrong kind of attention
during a transit.
Rain at Roebling Road made for interesting
rooster tails and the occasional visit to the grass.
Nelson Ledges and lots of fun. Several
clips here. This one is a Vette, car 24, having some
fun.
If you think this is wild, check out Dan Corcoran's
experience below. He had a lot more fun.
Dan Corcoran gets his heart racing on
this one.
How's that Vette doing the second time
around?
Here comes Dan again. I'm sure he was
happier with this performance.
Tony Swan locks 'em up.
Nelson Ledges in the afternoon. Car
15 goes for the grass. I was looking at the next cars
approaching and had just started to pan towards them
when I heard the incident and swung back to capture
the end of it.
Ron Adee Burnout
Another Burnout. The real definition
of fresh rubber is "molten".
At the end of it all, Garth asks
Brock Yates Jr., organizer of the event, for some
recommendations for anyone considering participating.
If you know Brock, you can tell he's
pretty tired here at the end of the grueling week
of One Lap. So was everyone else. Despite that, there's
a tremendous sense of triumph and accomplishment
at the end that makes it all worthwhile.
